Qualifications & Memberships

I am an internationally published medical researcher, working with the University of Sydney’s NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre as a Kidney Health Senior Research Fellow. I’ve seen the growing burden that kidney disease has placed upon individuals, families, communities and the healthcare system, and a great deal of research is needed to find the best ways to reduce this burden. I have pursued this through the following endeavours:

  • I have 11 international research paper publications (details here) and have presented my research at multiple international conferences.

  • I am in the final year of a PhD with the University of Sydney in diabetes and kidney disease, with a focus on developing new strategies to support people with kidney disease to prevent kidney failure.

  • From 2020-2023 I served as Lead Editor for an academic newsletter with the International Society of Nephrology, called the Global Trials Focus, to help other kidney specialists stay up to date with the latest research. This newsletter has a global audience and is translated into 5 languages, and can be viewed via external link here)

Research

As much as I love medicine and research, my greatest joy is as a husband, and as a father of 2 young daughters. In spare moments I enjoy too many hobbies, including gardening, boardgames, and creative writing.
